Chinese New Year
The children handled real kitchen knives and prepared a Chinese stir fry meal. It tasted incredible!
Chinese New Year workshop
We had fun learning all about China and having a go with chopsticks
Sports Science at the Academy
Year 5 worked hard at The Academy during a Sports Science Transition morning.
Dancing
We have started practicing for the dance festival today. Thank you to Amanda from Dare Dance who is helping us.
Roman Shields
As part of our Roman topic, each child has designed a Roman Shield. We will be making them over the next couple of weeks.
Debating
Today we have been holding a debate. Each child took on a role and had to convince the others of their point of view.
New Playtime equipment has arrived
Thanks to all that have helped raise money this year for the new playtime equipment.
Yesterday we received the new Basket Ball Nets. They will be up soon for all the children to enjoy.
Ancient Greece
We had a lot of fun being archaeologists today and excavating Ancient Greek artefacts from the sand. We then examined them and talked about what they may have been used for.
Earth and Space
We created a scale model of our solar system using fruit and vegetables and toilet roll.
One piece of toilet roll is equivalent to 100,000,000km (100 million kilometres. Good job we've been looking at 9 digit numbers in Big Maths!)
School models
We started our 3d art topic by having a competition to make the best model of school!
PTA Meeting
Our next PTA Meeting will be held on 18th January at 2.30pm
